Which Blockchain platform does Cardano follow?

I am thinking about PoS platform. if cardano follow the proof of stake platform then it will be better for this project.personally i am trying to learn Pos & Pow system. till now i feel that PoS is so demanding platform. so Cardano may can do this. thanks
