• Shiba Inu team unveils new concept art for its SHIB The Metaverse Dunes hub.
  • Spurred by this and other recent bullish development announcements, SHIB could be poised for a massive surge.

The Shiba Inu (SHIB) team has shared another bullish update for the dog-themed memecoin’s upcoming virtual reality world, SHIB The Metaverse.

In an update from SBI the MV, the official Twitter handle for updates on the metaverse development, the team shared that new concept art for Dunes—one of the digital locations that will play a vital role in the project.

From the concept art, the location is to be a cartoonish scenic “oasis of sorts” with “glitzy” high-rise buildings and “cooling waters.”

The reveal is the third concept art the team has unveiled for the Dune hub in SHIB the Metaverse. Back in October, the team unveiled black and white sketches of the digital location.

At the time, the team also revealed that the inspiration for the appearance of the hub was drawn from several real-world places. These include the Great Sand Dune National Park in the U.S. state of Colorado; Dubai; Egypt; Sossusvlei Park in Namibia; and the Sahara Desert.

The first update further revealed that the flora inspiration for the hub was from Welwitschia, Nara Melons, Camel Thorn Tree, Bushel, Twigs, and Thorns, while the fauna inspiration for the hub came from Dune Scorpion, Sidewinder Snakes, Giraffes, Cheetahs, Elephants, and other animals.

The second concept art reveal was made a few days after the first in October following a fireside chat the team held to field questions from Shiba Inu community members. Before these, the team had also shared concept arts for other of the metaverse’s hubs including Canyon, WAGMI Temple, and Rocket Pond.

SHIB poised for a massive surge?

Aside from making massive headway in developing the metaverse platform, the Shiba Inu team has also been working on several other ecosystem-expanding projects. Last month, Shiba Inu developers announced the launch of the Shiba Eternity game.

Following the announcement, Shytoshi Kasuma, the pseudonymous creator of Shiba Inu, also hinted at the possibility of the Ethereum-based project launching its own layer 2 solutions, Shibarium, soon.

The announcements all point to the team’s dedication to seeing the SHIB shed its memecoin tag by gaining more utility. With more utility, the price of SHIB could rise exponentially in the coming days with expectations that it could eventually surpass $1. SHIB is trading at around $0.0000097, up 1.15 percent in the last 24 hours according to data from CoinMarketCap at the time of writing.
